Summary: Breakthrough method
Comment: Anyone that follows golf to any degree has probably heard about Stack and Tilt. Several PGA professionals have adopted the method to great success, the most prominent being Aaron Baddeley and former Masters champion Mike Weir.
The method challenges many of the golf swing truisms that we have all learned throughout our struggle to improve. Some weight should probably be given to stack and tilt simply because of the outrage displayed by the traditional golf swing gurus when confronted with new ideas.

Let me just say that while no method works for every body type and swing motion Andy and Mike have discovered a brilliant set of fundamentals for improvement. I can not speak highly enough about how these discs have changed my game. The first fundamental of any golf swing should be how consistent our ball to club contact is. Most mid to high handicap golfers hit behind the ball and until they are able to move their swing centers forward it is impossible to improve. Stack and Tilt gets the player striking the ball properly by moving the weight forward and keeping it there. The weight shift that has been taught forever is a challenging move for the player of average athletic ability. More often than not, they end up with the swing center so far back that they are unable to make a weight shift forward for solid ball contact. When the player is hitting the ball first there is a chance for improvement in path which addresses the most common problem for recreational golfers; the slice.

I have played golf for over 15 years and probably hit my plateau for consistency one year after I started. I have pounded balls for the remaining 14 years with almost no improvement. My search has included numerous lessons and countless books and discs. In short I am a nut for golf. Stack and Tilt has completely changed my golfing life. Understand that lower scoring involves much more than the full swing, but this frankly is the hard part of the equation.

Now for the bad part. While I could not be more enthusiastic about the content of these discs, the presentation is well below the standards of modern production values. The discs are really these two guys standing in front of a camera explaining the method. In many of the shots the background is a driving range with golfers hitting balls. A few very lame graphics and yellowing old golf swing images complete the package. No joke, my wife averts her eyes from the screen when she walks into the room and I have stack and tilt on. No instruction discs of any type could be more prosaic than these. Still, if you can get past the dullness, these guys are on to something brilliant. I would hope with the success of stack and tilt that a new version will come out, but in the meantime these discs are a vital part of any golfers library of instruction sources. Thanks Mike and Andy, you are flat out golf geniuses.
